Couples therapy

Life is stressful these days, and it is easy to fall into a pattern with your partner of pushing them away when you need them the most. Together, we will work to understand and shift these patterns using Emotionally Focused Therapy. You will understand yourself, each other, and why things happen the way they do, and have the tools to change things for the better. This service is available virtually or in person. In person may be a combination of traditional talk therapy and ground work with horses.

What to expect

The foundation for my work with couples is Emotionally Focused Therapy.  I will work with you to help you understand yourselves and each other in a deeper way.  I will help you untangle the stuff from the emotion, and interact with each other differently.

If you're not ready for therapy, a good place to start is by reading Hold Me Tight by Sue Johnson, and/or think about joining a psychoeducational group offered here at Matatoa as well as online through various therapists.
